The sneaker brand VEJA was founded in 2005 and is based in Brazil and France. By mixing social projects, economic justice and ecological materials, they have a clear sustainability perspective at all levels. The shoes are made from recycled rubber or natural rubber, organic cotton, mesh from recycled PET bottles, CWL (vegan leather) and leather that is low-chromium tanned. The natural rubber is harvested by the indigenous peoples of the Amazon. VEJA works closely with its cotton growers and rubber producers. In addition, they have decent working conditions and salaries.
